Pietro’s Story

Pietro Rizzo is a well known bartender, bar consultant and drinks enthusiast from Casale Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy.

Pietro began his career upon arriving in London in 2007, when he joined the team behind the city’s favourite rum bar, Wax Jambu on Upper Street, where he oversaw the team and created the impressive bar menu featuring over 150 different types of rum. Four years later in 2012, he moved to The Looking Glass Hackney as Bar Manager before moving back to his home country to work at The Smile Tree in Turin, one of Italy’s most highly awarded bars, owned by Dennis ZOPPI. In 2015, Pietro moved back to the Big Smoke to work at some of London’s most famed bars, including Barts in Chelsea as Bar Manager in 2015, he launched Mr.Foggs Society of Exploration, located on Bedford Street, in 2018. Pietro also conducted impressive consultancy work for Mr.Foggs Gin Parlour in St. Martin’s Lane in 2017 and Four Degree in St George Wharf in 2018, where he focused on new openings, recruitment and training as well as running the bar, creating the menu and collaborating with brands. He also organised countless industry events, from masterclasses to special guest appearances. Pietro has also been the European Brand Ambassador for Mancino Vermouth & Rinomato Aperitivo for 4years and he still the Beverage Director for Cru Events and Camp Kerala. As well as acting as guest bartender around the world, including Sidecar in Delhi, The Wise King in Hong Kong, 28HKStreet in Singapore Vesper Bar in Berlin, The Bamboo Bar at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Bangkok, Svanen in Oslo and many more… In recent years, Pietro has been involved in judging a number of Cocktails Competitions like the Gran Finals of the UKBG 2018 and 2023 and the National ABI Professional (Italian Bartender Association) With a wealth of experience under his belt, Pietro teaches around the world to encourage inspiring students to join the industry and support them throughout their journeys.

During the last few years, Pietro has been focusing on sharing his passion and culture for this wonderful world of hospitality, organizing seminary and unforgettable nights around the world.
With one main objective, to translate in art everything that comes from the heart and hard work.
